The spookiest time of the year is quickly approaching and the kids will be gearing up for trick-or-treat night before you know it! But before they head out for a night of hunting for the best houses, make sure they’re properly prepared. Here are a few useful Halloween safety tips from us here at Dahl Chevrolet Buick GMC. Happy Halloween!
Staying visible as the sun goes down is essential, especially for younger children. Costumes with bright colors are easy to spot. If your child’s costume is fairly dark, reflective strips are a great way to keep track of your child as they go door to door as well. Glow sticks and flashlights can also put worried minds at ease.
If there’s one thing that can ruin trick-or-treat night, it’s a mask that constantly gets in the way. Masks that limit visibility, hold excess heat, or inhibit airflow can be the sole source of disaster as the night goes on. Make sure children are comfortable in their costumes prior to trick-or-treat night.
There’s a lot of truth to the old adage. Safety in numbers will help children stay safe. After all, it’s easier for drivers to spot a large group instead of just a child or two. Use numbers to your advantage this Halloween and hit the streets with a group!
